Peaches for Me

Doodles of Miss MiMi now that she is also back from getting repainted (again).

I have a few quibbles about her faceup, but nonetheless I’m really happy to have her back. Her mouth, like Jer’s, took multiple tries to get even remotely close to right. (I was literally crying after getting her first “finished” photos, because she looked like she was wearing hot pink lipstick, despite my very specifically using the default Tsugumi faceup as a color reference for what I wanted.) Redone, she looks more like V in the “salmon nigiri for a mouth” department, which is fine by me.

I’m a little worried that she looks too glamorous and makeup-y next to GiGi, who has a much cleaner and more natural/neutral faceup, but we’ll see if they work in photos together.

On her own though, she’s very cute. I’m also super biased, because I’m absolutely smitten with the Tsugumi sculpt itself, crooked mouth and all, and MiMi’s design overall (eyes, hair). As a doll, she pleases me a lot.

Keep the Peace

Nothing exciting, photo-wise, but Jer’s Sleeping Sevy head recently came back from being repainted (again), so I’m trying to make peace with the new look.

From a technical standpoint, it’s excellent, with exceptional linework. From a “capturing what I asked for” view, it’s… maybe a little less on the money, which is why I’m struggling a bit with him. His lips are… still kind of hot pink (and this after multiple attempts and dozens of references to get them to the color I wanted), and his overall appearance strikes me as more “fashion model glamor-puss” than “grumpy fighter-type”. I think darkening his lip crease and extending the corners might help with that?

I dunno. Like I said, I’m trying to give him a chance and make it work.

Out of This World

Might’ve gone a bit overboard… oops.

Ever since the Carrot-kun fiasco, I’ve been dragging my feet on photographing Jer again. The faceup on his other head was such a disappointment that I scheduled a slot with a different artist to get him repainted as soon as I could (he went out in early September), but it’s going to be at least a few more weeks before I expect him back.

I’m hoping – really, really hoping – that this time it will work out better, and I didn’t want to spend too much energy and work on an old version of him that would be rendered obsolete. But I miss sharing him, so…

Outside Jaunt

Joce doodles! I love this outfit on him – the two tops pair together exactly as I hoped.

For future photos, I might swap out different accessories to mix it up a bit, but otherwise I’m pretty darn pleased. Plus, it’s Joce, and he’s a delight in and of himself. <3

Feelin’ Sunny

Some super-quick before-work shots from… nearly two weeks ago now. Whoops. But it’s something!
